Doctor Bomgart reads the diary of his mate, doctor Polyakov, which in the scientific experiment describes the sufferings of a human-being captured by morphine.
Sergey Polyakov is a very sensitive human-being; he is a wonderful physician and he can hurt a person in order to save him/her, but he was not able to bear his pain. His beloved wife left him; his life is incredibly empty and there are only memories about her. Polyakov escapes from reality to drugs. But is it different reality? And does the person remember about imminence of paying for illusions?
